First demonstrator for AI-supported revenue control

For this prototype, we crafted a case made of oak and manufactured it using a CNC milling machine. Over this wooden construction lies a fabric that conceals the touchscreen and sensors. With this simple design approach, which is conceived as calm technology, the device is intended to be unobtrusively integrated into the home environment of the patients.

The research project AvatarMediKI supports the correct intake of medication. Especially for older people who often have to take multiple medications at different times, the system can be helpful. The device uses artificial intelligence to check whether the medications are taken as prescribed. Additionally, an integrated dialogue system in the form of an avatar reminds users of their medication and provides assistance.

The first prototype provides important insights for further development. In the next step, we will gather user feedback and adapt the system to the needs of the target audience. The goal is to develop a reliable support for medication intake that seamlessly integrates into the daily lives of patients.
